We would like to share a brief technical tip to help prevent a situation that is becoming increasingly common during dealership or workshop visits. Please forward this article to the relevant contact person at your company.
Observation
During certain maintenance or repairs, the Geotab device may be temporarily disconnected (OBD by a technician and, in some cases, not reconnected when the vehicle is handed over.
Impact
This results in:
A temporary loss of data (location, routes, compliance, etc.)
Additional checks and interventions afterwards
Avoidable delays for all parties involved
Good practice recommended.
To optimize time and avoid any unnecessary intervention, we recommend that you
➡️ Check that the Geotab device is online before taking possession of the vehicle.
A quick, simple validation usually avoids any further follow-up.
